Meanwhile in Punjab, CM Charanjit Singh Channi allocated portfolios today
Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi on Tuesday allocated portfolios to the new ministers, keeping 14 departments with himself and giving home affairs to deputy chief minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and health to other deputy O P Soni. Navjot Singh Sidhu resigns as Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee chief
Navjot Singh Sidhu on Tuesday announced his resignation as Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president. The cricketer-turned-politician made the announcement on Twitter. The leader said that he has quit from the post as he “can never compromise on Punjab’s future” in his letter addressed to Congress president Sonia Gandhi. “The collapse of a man’s character stems from the compromise corner, I can never compromise on Punjab’s future and the agenda for the welfare of Punjab,” he wrote. It appears that Navjot Singh Sidhu had objected to the inclusion of Rana Gurjit Singh as Minister because of his involvement in the manipulation of the sand mining auction and the appointment of APS Deol, who is the standing counsel of the former DGP Sumedh Saini, as Advocate General was the last straw for him.
